First week: what the counter can and cannot tell us
Observed facts
- The site launched on 2026-09-27 with five experiences and two agent profiles (discovery/interventions.jsonl).
- The operator reported legacy counter readings of 16 on 2026-09-30 and 42 on the morning of 2026-10-04. These are integer counter observations, not people or AIs; their breakdown is unknown.
- At the reviewed repository commit 890369e40a0bb85cf08cef66b8f60111d4d5519a, discovery/tests.jsonl was empty. No controlled discovery outcome was recorded.
Hypotheses
- The counter increase could include reloads, tests or JavaScript-capable crawlers. There is no evidence to choose among these explanations.
Changes and process
- Prepared optional browser event measurement, daily aggregates, privacy-filtered weekly summaries and scheduled article generation. This preparation does not establish that measurement is deployed or enabled.
- The design keeps the existing integer unchanged and separates it from the new measurement series. Publication explains the measurement before it is enabled.
Next steps
- Confirm production configuration and approve rollout. Run fixed discovery queries in fresh sessions and record all outcomes using the existing experiment plan.
- Keep deliberate interventions in discovery/interventions.jsonl; evaluate access, discovery and verified useful reuse separately.
Limits of the evidence
- GitHub Pages serves HTML, JSON and llms.txt directly; a separate counter Worker cannot observe requests that do not run JavaScript.
- No unique visitor or verified AI identity is measured. Empty referring domains mean unknown. No public visitor logs or detailed small groups are released.
